Shared command
One leadership structure for both cities. Assignments are handled in the Dallas County Discord after whitelist.
The department
Two city names. One agency.
Mesquite Police Department and Dallas Police Department cover both cities with the same officers, the same fleet, and the same command.
On the Dallas County Roleplay server this is a city police department, listed beside the sheriff, the state, the wardens, and the Rangers. The patch may say Mesquite or Dallas. The chain of command does not split when a call crosses the city line.
Patrol handles the streets. Traffic, motorbikes, investigations, K9, SWAT, air support, and marine sit on the same department, so either city can field them. New officers ride with an FTO. Street crimes and the gang and drug task force take the cases that do not start as a routine call.
Shared fleet
Department cars, including SWAT-capable units, work Mesquite and Dallas.
County neighbors
The department works next to DCSO, Texas DPS, Game Wardens, and the Texas Rangers. DPS shares command oversight with DCSO and MPD / DPD.
